Overview

Music Sync is built so you can listen to Apple Music in real-time with friends, partners, and family. To make that work, we collect the minimum information required to power room sessions, social features, and optional AI assistance. We never sell your data and we never use it for advertising.

What we collect

  • Account info. An anonymous user ID, your display name, optional profile photo, and the device tokens required for push notifications.
  • Apple Music identity. We use MusicKit to play tracks. Your Apple Music subscription state is read on-device only — we don't store it on our servers.
  • Room activity. Songs you add, dedications you send, voice notes you record, reactions, and chat messages are stored so the people in your room can see and hear them. You can delete a room at any time, which removes all of this.
  • Voice note / AI audio. When you record a voice note or use the AI Playlist mic, the audio clip is securely uploaded to our cloud and transcribed so we can attach the message or build your playlist. The audio is deleted after the transcription finishes.

How we use it

Strictly to deliver the features you use: synchronising playback, generating playlists, routing notifications, and showing your stats inside your rooms. We don't train AI models on your data and we don't share it with third parties except the service providers that help us deliver these features.

Your controls

You can delete any room you host (which permanently deletes its contents), leave any room you joined, and delete your account directly in the app.
